The data we collect
The stories on queerbeat’s website are free for anyone to read. We don’t collect any personal data such as names or email addresses when you visit our website or read our stories.
If you have signed up to get queerbeat’s upcoming stories delivered to your inbox, then we maintain that data—your name and email—at a secure place and is kept confidential. Your data will not be revealed to any third party.
Likewise, if you have purchased a membership to become a part of qb club, a growing community of members, we keep your personal data—your name and email— confidential. These data will not be revealed to any third party. We will only use these data internally to get to know you better as a member as you participate in membership privileges such as community meet ups with queer writers. Personal data of one member will not be shared with another.
Your card and banking information that you used to purchase membership is not visible to us. It is securely held by Stripe.

Mailchimp: An email marketing service, we use to deliver our stories to your inbox (only if you have signed up for it) and monitor data such as email open rates.
Stripe: A payment gateway we use to collect and process payments from our members.
Withdraw consent anytime
When you sign up to “Get Queer News” delivered to your inbox and when you become a paying member of QB Club, you consent to share your name and email address with us, which we keep confidential. If at any moment you decide to withdraw this consent, we will honor that. Just write to us at hello@queerbeat.org

Controls for Do-Not-Track features
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ('DNT') feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage no uniform technology standard for recognising and implementing DNT signals has been finalised. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this privacy notice.
