Vijayta (she/they) is an independent journalist who reports on the impact of politics and polarisation on life and livelihoods. Her work has appeared in several Indian news outlets. She is currently a student at King’s College London trying to decipher questions on the nature of violence and inequality in India.
“As a queer person in India, I often ask myself questions of what my future looks like in terms of having community around me. I was able to explore this further by working on a report on how older queer people in India across multiple intersections are navigating this question. There are no easy answers, but the report helped kickstart an important conversation which is still ongoing.”
