Sudipta is an anti-caste queer feminist practitioner, gender expert and writer, with experience of working on key thematics of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), queer rights, communications and advocacy. Previously they worked towards building parallels between regional, national, and global policy engagement spaces to demand equitable, accessible, and quality SRHR services for gender diverse adolescents and young people.

An India fellow’17 and a Likho Journalism Fellow’19, Sudipta enjoys writing on key issues of caste, queerness, health, GBV, and culture. As a freelance writer they have contributed toIndian Express, Swaddle, Villagesquare, Maveli Nadu Publications, Feminism In India, Sangya Project, etc. Most of their writing is deeply rooted in the narratives of those directly affected by these issues, offering insights into the complexities of social justice. They won the 2021 SCARF Media For Mental Health Award for excellence in reporting on mental health. They were also awarded MaveliNadu’s non-fiction grant 2022 for contributing to their publication on Debrahmanising Gender and received CREA’s Storytelling grant 2023.
